Grape seed oil is a strong antioxidant with powerful skin penetration and healing properties useful in both body and hair care products as an emollient.
Oil from a species of grape grown in Europe, Asia, and Africa is expressed from the seeds and is often used in cosmetics as an emollient to help condition the skin. It contains a number of acids and is full of natural antioxidants. Used traditionally for healing wounds, it has a number of anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties. Grape seed oil is also used in hair care products to help manage dandruff. Malic acid, and alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) helps exfoliate the top layer of skin, removing dead skin cells, helping moisture and other nutrients penetrate deeper into the skin, and improve discoloration and texture.
